Booking Terms and Conditions
Overview
The terms that apply when you book a Teva journey.
Last updated: June 2026
These terms apply to journeys booked with Teva EcoTravels, we, us, our, a registered tour operator based in Arusha, Tanzania, with company registration number 185103307. By paying a deposit, you accept these terms on behalf of everyone in your party.
Booking and deposit
A 30 per cent deposit confirms your journey. The balance is due 60 days before arrival. For bookings made within 60 days of travel, the full amount is due at the time of booking. Your booking is confirmed only once we have acknowledged it in writing.
Payment
Payments may be made by bank transfer or secure card payment. All prices are quoted in US dollars unless stated otherwise. Any bank or card charges are the responsibility of the payer.
Prices and what is included
Each journey page and your written quote set out exactly what is included and excluded. Prices are based on the services and the number of travellers confirmed at the time of booking, and may change if these change or, in the rare event, due to significant cost increases outside our control.
If you cancel
Cancellations must be made in writing. As we commit funds to lodges, parks and partners in advance, the following charges apply.
- More than 60 days before arrival: loss of deposit.
- 60 to 30 days before arrival: 50 per cent of the total.
- 29 to 8 days before arrival: 75 per cent of the total.
- 7 days or fewer, or no show: 100 per cent of the total.
If we change or cancel
We will always try to keep your journey exactly as planned. Occasionally, for reasons such as weather, wildlife, safety or supplier changes, we may need to adjust an itinerary, and we will offer the nearest equivalent. In the very rare case that we must cancel, we will offer an alternative or a fair refund of payments made to us for services not yet delivered.
Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of travel. It should cover medical care and evacuation, cancellation, and your belongings. Please share your policy details before departure.
Passports, visas and health
You are responsible for holding a valid passport, the correct visa, and meeting health and vaccination requirements for Tanzania. We provide guidance, but the final responsibility rests with you.
Responsibility
We take great care in planning and operating your journey. We are not liable for events beyond our reasonable control, including weather, wildlife behaviour, flight changes, illness, or the acts of independent suppliers. Travel in wild places carries inherent risks, which you accept by booking.
Complaints
If something is not right during your journey, please tell your guide at once so we can put it right. Any matter not resolved on the ground should be raised with us in writing within 28 days of your return.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Tanzania. For any question, contact George Shango at info@tevaecotravels.com or on +255 752 044 777.
